Our First Term Adventure: English Grade 3Welcome to a very special first term! This year, we aren't just memorizing words; we are learning how to tell our own stories. Our classroom will be a place where we use our bodies to mime actions, our hands to draw our ideas, and our voices to bring rhymes to life. Here is a look at the journey we’ll take together over the next few weeks:We’ll start by focusing on who we are. The children will learn how to greet the world at different times of the day and, most importantly, how to share their feelings. Whether they are feeling "happy," "surprised," or "brave," they’ll find the right words to express it while getting to know their classmates.Next, we’ll become explorers of our own space. We will use colors and numbers (1–20) to describe everything around us. It’s not just about saying "pencil"—it’s about describing "three yellow pencils." This helps the students see the classroom through a new lens, noticing the details and quantities in their everyday environment.Our journey then takes us into the heart of the home and the wild. We’ll talk about the people we love—our families—and the animals we admire. By using words like "My" and "Your," and sharing what we "Like" or "Don't like," the children will learn to communicate their affections and their unique personalities.Finally, we will wrap up the term by becoming "Daily Reporters." We’ll look at our lives from sunrise to sunset, learning how to describe our routines—from eating breakfast to playing with friends. By using action verbs and talking about how often we do things, students will gain the confidence to talk about their real-life habits.By the end of this term, your child won’t just be "learning English"—they will be living it, using the language to connect with others, express their creativity, and describe the beautiful world they live in.

FAMILY AND THE ANIMAL KINGDOM

Para nuestra actividad del miércoles 4 de marzo, queremos que el aprendizaje de los niños sea verdaderamente significativo. Por eso, les pedimos el favor de que los estudiantes traigan al colegio una fotografía de su familia o un dibujo muy especial hecho por ellos mismos donde aparezcan los miembros del hogar.

Esta imagen será la base para crear nuestro «Family Tree» (Árbol Familiar) en clase. ¡Nos encantará ver los rostros de sus seres queridos mientras practicamos inglés con mucho cariño!

Actividad: Empezaremos el mes dibujando el mapa de nuestro corazón a través de un árbol familiar. Cada niño presentará a las personas más importantes de su vida usando sus propias ilustraciones, convirtiendo el cuaderno en un álbum de recuerdos mientras descubrimos juntos cómo nombrar a nuestros seres queridos en inglés.

Actividad: Aprenderemos sobre el valor de compartir y la pertenencia usando las palabras «My» y «Your». Haremos una dinámica divertida de intercambio de objetos pequeños para practicar cómo prestar y reclamar nuestras cosas con amabilidad, completando luego nuestra historia de posesión en el cuaderno.

Fecha: 10 de marzo del 2026

Actividad: ¡Nos convertiremos en detectives! Jugaremos a las adivinanzas familiares, donde cada niño dará pistas sobre un pariente para que sus amigos adivinen de quién se trata. Será un espacio lleno de risas para aprender a hacer preguntas y tomar apuntes sobre cómo investigar la identidad de los demás.

Fecha: 11 de marzo del 2026

Actividad: El salón se transformará en una pequeña granja. Aprenderemos los nombres de nuestras mascotas y animales favoritos a través de sonidos y gestos, imitando a cada especie para que el aprendizaje se sienta en todo el cuerpo antes de crear nuestra propia enciclopedia ilustrada de animales.

Fecha: 12 de marzo del 2026

Actividad: Descubriremos que todos tenemos gustos diferentes usando «Like» y «Don’t like». Haremos una gran encuesta colorida en el tablero para conocer las preferencias del grupo y luego cada niño escribirá en su cuaderno sobre esos animales que les roban una sonrisa (y los que no tanto).

Fecha: 17 de marzo del 2026

Actividad: Abriremos nuestro laboratorio de «Creatividad Biológica» para inventar animales que no existen en el mundo real. Los niños dibujarán criaturas fantásticas, poniéndoles nombres únicos y etiquetando sus colores y partes del cuerpo, celebrando así la imaginación sin límites.

Fecha: 18 de marzo del 2026

Actividad: Para cerrar este ciclo, nos convertiremos en pequeños autores. Cada estudiante unirá todo lo aprendido para crear un minicuento ilustrado donde su familia y una mascota vivan una aventura especial, dejando plasmado en su cuaderno el poder de su propia narrativa.
