English Sixth Grade

Acerca de este curso
Welcome to a year of exploration, connection, and creativity. The Sixth Grade English Course is designed as a comprehensive journey that takes students from understanding their immediate world to analyzing the complex narratives of history and media. Our goal is to transform language learning into a powerful tool for self-expression and global citizenship.
Throughout the year, the course is divided into four major milestones:
1. Identity & Foundations: Unpacking My World We begin by establishing a strong foundation. Students explore their personal identity, family heritage, and daily rituals. By mastering the alphabet, basic introductions, and the Simple Present (Do/Does), they learn to describe who they are and how they connect with their family and school environment. We focus on healthy habits and the importance of a balanced lifestyle from the very start.
2. Moving Through My World: Exploring the City In the second stage, our horizon expands to the community. Students become urban explorers, identifying transportation systems, public places, and essential professions. Using Prepositions of Place and the Present Continuous, they navigate interactive maps and simulate real-life city scenarios. This phase emphasizes civic responsibility and environmental awareness in urban mobility.
3. Exploring the Wild: Into the Wild We then venture into the natural world to foster environmental consciousness. Students dive into the study of wildlife and diverse habitats, from the African savannah to the frozen landscapes of Antarctica. By applying Descriptive Adjectives and researching biodiversity, they analyze food chains and the impact of climate change, learning to use English to advocate for the protection of our planet.
4. Capturing Stories: Media & History The journey culminates in the world of storytelling and communication. Students analyze the evolution of society through cinema and historical milestones. By mastering the Past Simple, they narrate family legends and historical events. Finally, they step into the roles of directors and reporters, integrating all their technical and linguistic skills to produce a final Audiovisual Documentary that celebrates their community and personal growth.
Course Mission: To empower Sixth Grade students to communicate with confidence, think critically about the world around them, and appreciate the diversity of human experience through the mastery of the English language.
