Our First Term Adventure: English Grade 3Welcome to a very special first term! This year, we aren't just memorizing words; we are learning how to tell our own stories. Our classroom will be a place where we use our bodies to mime actions, our hands to draw our ideas, and our voices to bring rhymes to life. Here is a look at the journey we’ll take together over the next few weeks:We’ll start by focusing on who we are. The children will learn how to greet the world at different times of the day and, most importantly, how to share their feelings. Whether they are feeling "happy," "surprised," or "brave," they’ll find the right words to express it while getting to know their classmates.Next, we’ll become explorers of our own space. We will use colors and numbers (1–20) to describe everything around us. It’s not just about saying "pencil"—it’s about describing "three yellow pencils." This helps the students see the classroom through a new lens, noticing the details and quantities in their everyday environment.Our journey then takes us into the heart of the home and the wild. We’ll talk about the people we love—our families—and the animals we admire. By using words like "My" and "Your," and sharing what we "Like" or "Don't like," the children will learn to communicate their affections and their unique personalities.Finally, we will wrap up the term by becoming "Daily Reporters." We’ll look at our lives from sunrise to sunset, learning how to describe our routines—from eating breakfast to playing with friends. By using action verbs and talking about how often we do things, students will gain the confidence to talk about their real-life habits.By the end of this term, your child won’t just be "learning English"—they will be living it, using the language to connect with others, express their creativity, and describe the beautiful world they live in.

COLORS, NUMBERS AND SCHOOL ENVIRONMENT

  • Objetivo: Describir cualitativa y cuantitativamente el entorno escolar utilizando vocabulario de útiles, colores y números para comunicar realidades inmediatas del salón de clase.

 

  • Concepto: El ordenamiento del mundo físico se logra mediante la categorización visual y lógica. Los colores y los números actúan como los primeros adjetivos y cuantificadores que dan precisión a la descripción de los objetos del aula, permitiendo al niño pasar de la simple identificación a la descripción detallada de su espacio de aprendizaje.

 

Fecha: 18 de febrero del 2026

Actividad: Se trabaja la identificación de colores en el entorno inmediato. Se ejecuta un ejercicio de búsqueda y asociación de objetos del salón con su nombre en inglés. Se hace una práctica de etiquetado de colores en el cuaderno mediante un gráfico de arcoíris.

Fecha: 19 de febrero del 2026

Actividad: Se desarrolla la competencia numérica del 1 al 20. Después se hace un conteo rítmico utilizando materiales tangibles del aula. por último se hace una actividad de coordinación visomotora uniendo puntos numéricos en el cuaderno.

Fecha: 24 de febrero del 2026

Actividad: Se trabaja el léxico de los objetos del aula. Se ejecuta el juego «Simon says» para verificar la comprensión auditiva de los comandos y útiles escolares. Se hace una representación gráfica del puesto de trabajo identificando cada elemento.

Fecha: 25 de febrero del 2026

Actividad: Se desarrolla el conteo y escritura de números del 11 al 20. Se ejecuta un juego de bingo auditivo para afianzar la pronunciación. Se hace el registro de la serie numérica completa en el cuaderno resaltando la ortografía técnica.

Fecha: 26 de febrero del 2026

Actividad: Se trabaja la unión de sustantivos y adjetivos de color. Se ejecuta un ejercicio de dictado visual donde se deben dibujar objetos específicos según la descripción oral. Se hace la producción de frases sencillas de tipo «Adjetivo + Sustantivo».

Fecha: 03 de marzo del 2026

Actividad: Se ejecuta un repaso general de descripción de entorno. Se trabaja la cuantificación de objetos mediante flashcards. Se hace una descripción escrita de tres elementos propios presentes en el salón.
